About Me
Hi, I’m Nicole - but you can call me Nico.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist serving California and Oregon. I support thoughtful, emotionally attuned (or those who want to be) individuals who are ready to explore what’s beneath the overwhelm and reconnect with who they really are.
My Path to Becoming a Therapist
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and my Masters of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Santa Clara University. My training began at YWCA Silicon Valley, where I supported children, teens, and adults impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. That work shaped me - I carry it with me still.
I went on to complete a Post-Master’s Fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in Roseville, where I worked with adults in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and outpatient clinic. I facilitated therapy groups focused on self-compassion, letting go, anxiety, depression, and unhelpful thought patterns. Curious about any of these topics? Feel free to ask me more!
Before opening my private practice, I worked at Two Chairs in San Francisco, providing virtual therapy to adults across California. I’ve been in private practice since 2021, and I love this work deeply.
My Clients Come to Me For Support With…
Anxiety and overthinking
Burnout and perfectionism
Relationship dynamics and emotional disconnection
Identity shifts - especially around new parenthood or major life changes
Grief, loss, and meaning-making
Self-compassion and personal growth
Values clarification and sexuality exploration
Whether you’re feeling stuck, questioning who you are, grieving the life you thought you’d have, or simply wanting to feel more like yourself again - you’re not alone. And you don’t have to figure it out on your own.
Outside of Therapy
I love spending time with my partner, our two cats (Goose and Barrel), and our people. I’m a bookworm, a loyal Netflix re-watcher, and occasionally convince myself to go on a run or hike - if the conditions are just right.
Who am I as a therapist? What will it be like doing therapy with me?
I became a therapist because I believe in the human capacity for change. Even when things feel stuck or heavy, I trust that growth is possible - and I find deep meaning in supporting people as they begin to shift, soften, and reconnect with themselves.
So let me ask you: What would you like to be different in your life?
Therapy is something we do together. I see our work as a collaborative process. We’ll move at your pace, exploring what you need and how to move toward what feels more grounded, clear, or whole - whatever that looks like for you. Sometimes that means figuring out how to “feel better.” But what does better actually mean for you? More ease? More clarity? More connection? We’ll explore that - not as a checklist, but as a deeper inquiry into what matters most to you.
For others, therapy is about:
Getting unstuck
Navigating anxiety or burnout
Processing grief or life transitions
Exploring identity, sexuality, or values
Working through relationship dynamics
Learning how to soften self-criticism and build self-trust
There’s no wrong reason to come to therapy. Being human can be hard - especially when you’ve spent a long time holding it all together for everyone else. But this space is for you. A place to breathe, reflect, and be real.
In our work together, I’ll show up as a steady, compassionate presence. Sometimes I’ll be your guide, helping you find direction when things feel murky. Sometimes I’ll be a sounding board, offering space for the swirling thoughts and feelings to land. And sometimes I’ll share insights or tools to support you between sessions.
But always, this will be a space where you don’t have to perform, prove, or push through. Just be.
If any part of this speaks to you, I’d love to connect and see if we’d be a good fit.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”
